Step 5:  Choose Your Representative

Real estate agents account for almost 75% of home sales each year. Many of those agents are very good.  As in any service-oriented industry, some of those agents are not very good.  When you decide to sell your home, you must decide whether or not you want a real estate agent to represent you.

You may hire a full-service agent, a part-time agent, or you could choose to sell the home on your own.  The document below describes the selling process and what activities must be performed regardless of who is selling it.

If you decide to use an agent, make sure you feel comfortable with your choice. You should probably interview a few agents before you make a selection.  Review the list of agent evaluation questions which might help you determine the quality of the agent you select.  Not only should your agent be good at what s/he does, but s/he should also interact well with you.
